A beautiful and well-preserved antique bronze & mahogany French wall crucifix, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century. This piece showcases a striking blend of rich materials and ornate styling.

Design & Style: The crucifix features a traditional cross form with ornate Gothic Revival architectural detailing and decorative gilt surround. An "INRI" plaque is fitted above the corpus. INRI is an acronym for the Latin phrase Iesus Nazarenus, Rex Iudaeorum, which translates to "Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews", the title placed on the cross by Pontius Pilate.

Materials: The main cross is crafted from high-quality mahogany wood with a beautiful natural patina. The figure of Jesus Christ (corpus) is a detailed casting in bronze.
