🌸 Pair of Antique Japanese Meiji Period Cloisonné Medallion Vases 🌸

A superb and highly collectible pair of antique Japanese Cloisonné Enamel Vases, dating from the prestigious Meiji Period (1868–1912), the "Golden Age" of Japanese enamel work.

These vases feature the classic baluster form and display intricate Cloisonné Enamel with a Medallion design executed on a striking mirror-black ground. The floral scenes—which include blossoms, butterflies and various foliage—are meticulously rendered using fine silver or gold wirework (yūsen shippō) and vibrant enamels, a hallmark of 19th-Century Japanese mastery.

The overall quality, detail, and distinctive contrasting borders (often turquoise or green, as seen on your pair) confirm their authenticity as Meiji-era decorative arts. A very desirable and eye-catching lot.

8.5 inches high, 1.75 inches base, 3.75 inches at widest part.

Some light wear and marks commensurate with age, please see photos for more detail of condition.
