A rare matching pair of large-scale, geometric pyramid dioramas dating from the late 1970s. Standing at 11 inches high with a 10-inch base, these pieces are significantly larger than the common miniature versions typically found from this era.
Each sealed triangular prism contains a taxidermy butterfly, dried grasses, natural sea coral, and seashells resting on a bed of fine shoreline sand.
True to late 1970s manufacturing, the panels are constructed from lightweight Perspex (acrylic) rather than glass, set within a black soldered frame. Both units are factory-sealed, meaning the internal components are entirely secure and dust-free.
Excellent vintage condition. The Perspex panels remain bright, clear, and free from the typical clouding, yellowing, or heavy scratching common with vintage plastics. The interior specimens and sand bases are stable and have not shifted.
